According to legend, the mineral springs were accidentally discovered in the 16th century by a shepherd who stopped to rest near a lake and, plunging his swollen feet into water with an unusually pungent and pungent smell, was amazed at how quickly the pain and fatigue passed. Around these natural mineral springs, the town of Smrdaki grew up with a dermatological balneotherapy center, which today is one of the most effective spas in the world for the treatment of skin diseases and muscle disorders. Baths with hydrogen sulphide-rich mineral water from natural local sources and mud therapy with curative sulphurous mud are excellent for skin diseases such as chronic eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis and rosacea, as well as for post-burn conditions.
